Fulfillment

Fulfillment: what it is and how it works for selling abroad

Fulfillment is the service in which a logistics operator stores the seller's stock in its warehouse, prepares each order when it sells (picking and packing) and ships it to the buyer.

Unlike parcel-by-parcel cross-border shipping, in fulfillment the stock is already close to the market before the sale. That shortens delivery time and allows selling with local lead times from a warehouse abroad.

The seller sends inventory to the warehouse in large loads (replenishment), and from there each order leaves as an individual shipment. The warehouse handles stock, packaging and dispatch.
