Overselling: selling more units than you have in stock
Overselling is selling more units of a product than are available in the warehouse, leaving orders without stock to prepare them.
It happens when the store and the warehouse are not in sync, or when the seller lists stock that has not arrived yet. The symptom in the inventory is a negative quantity.
The way to avoid it is for the stock listed in the store to be the warehouse's real stock, which is what a two-way inventory integration does.

How Overselling works in our operation
When the store is connected to MailAmericas' Self-Service Portal, the warehouse stock is reflected in the store and overselling is reduced. If it happens, the affected orders stay in back order until the replenishment comes in.

How do I know if I am selling more than I have?
If a product in the portal inventory shows a negative quantity, those units are missing to complete orders already sold.
