Rate zoning: why the same country has different prices
Zoning is the division of a destination country into delivery zones according to the cost and the network needed to reach each one, and the base on which last-mile rates are built.
Two zones with the same delivery lead time can have different rates, because what defines a zone is the network cost (distance, density, access), not transit. Zones are usually grouped as capital, metropolitan area, inland and remote.
Each shipment's zone is determined by postal code or locality when the order is created.

How Zoning works in our operation
MailAmericas' marketplace rates are presented by zone and weight band; the postal-code-to-zone matching is done by the system when the order arrives. For a new account, MailAmericas builds the destination's zoning from its network and shares it with the seller.

How do I know which zone an address falls in?
By postal code or locality: each country's zone table shows it, and the system assigns it automatically when the order is created.
