Marketplace: what it is and how it connects with logistics

A marketplace is an e-commerce platform where many sellers list products and the platform concentrates the traffic, the payment and, often, the shipping rules.

MercadoLibre, Amazon, Walmart and Shopee are marketplaces. Unlike an own store (Shopify, TiendaNube), the seller does not control the whole experience: the marketplace sets maximum delivery times, label formats, return rules and late-delivery penalties.

For logistics, what matters is the integration: when the marketplace and the operator are connected, each sale automatically creates a shipping order with the label and the tracking the marketplace requires.

Can I use MailAmericas if I sell through my own store rather than a marketplace?

Yes. Own stores on Shopify or TiendaNube connect the same way. If your channel is not on the list, an API integration is evaluated.
