Last mile
Own delivery network: what it means and what changes for the seller
An own last-mile network is a delivery operation with the operator's own staff, vehicles, distribution centres and systems, instead of subcontracting delivery to a local postal service or carrier.
The difference is control: with an own network the operator decides routes, time windows, redelivery attempts and how the buyer is served, and sees every parcel in real time. With third parties, it depends on someone else's processes and systems.
Running an own network costs more in infrastructure, so it usually concentrates on the highest-volume areas and is complemented with third parties elsewhere.

How Own network works in our operation
MailAmericas has its own operation on five continents and its own last mile in the main Latin American markets. For the seller it translates into more predictable delivery times and claims resolved by the same team that delivers.
