Tracking number: what it is and how to follow an international shipment

The tracking number is the unique code that identifies a parcel along its whole route and lets you check where it is, from the origin hub to delivery.

A cross-border shipment often has several codes: the marketplace order number, the international operator's code and the local last-leg code. When one operator covers the whole route, a single code tracks the parcel end to end.

Every scan at a hub, at customs or at delivery creates a tracking event with date, place and status.

How Tracking number works in our operation

MailAmericas assigns one tracking number per parcel that is valid for the whole route and publishes it on its tracking panel in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Chinese. Events are sent back to the marketplace so the buyer sees them in their account.
