Multi-carrier model: what it is and why it gives more stability

A multi-carrier model is a logistics operation that combines several carriers (airlines, delivery networks) and picks the best one for each route, instead of depending on a single one.

With one carrier, any problem in its network (a cancelled flight, a strike, a full quota) stops the whole operation. With several, the load is rerouted and departures continue.

Each carrier also has routes where it is stronger and cheaper. Combining several lets you use the best one on each leg.

How Multi-carrier works in our operation

MailAmericas runs a multi-carrier model in international transport and combines its own networks with third-party networks in the last mile, depending on country and zone. The system selects by route; the seller does not.

Frequently asked question

Do you work with third-party networks or only your own?

Both. MailAmericas has its own last-mile operation in several Latin American countries and complements it with third-party networks where coverage or cost makes sense.
